With the world constantly trying to become more environmentally friendly we thought it would be a good opportunity to share the things that The Grange Golf Club does to try and reduce our environmental footprint.

Please find below a list of things the Club currently does:

  • Introducing paper straws in the Members Bar which are recyclable and compostable
  • Installing of 2 x 99.9kW solar panel system reducing our electrical power needs by 40%
  • Electronically distributing Member Subscription Notices, Annual Reports and Newsletters saving paper and packaging
  • Installation of 585 LED Lights reducing our power output and electricity requirements
  • Wetlands system which enables us to clean and store up to 100 Million litres of storm water for the re-use and recharge of the local aquifer
  • Limit water use where possible through good placement and uniformity. Irrigating as much through the night to minimise evaporation rates
  • Regularly donating surplus food to OZ Harvest who collect from Grange and distribute to people in need and divert food waste from landfill
  • Ensuring all bottles, cans, paper, boxes etc are recycled and not sent to landfill
  • Monthly bottle collection by Scouts Australia with contributions received split between both organisations
  • Weekly collection of our used cooking and mechanic oil which distributors then recycle at their factory
  • Conservation of native Flora & Fauna through the development and implementation of Vegetation Management plans
  • Planting of over 2500 native tree and grass species in the last 3 years with another 5000 projected in the next 3 years
  • Provide seed to the Tennyson dunes regeneration project
  • Provide native tree seeds to local native nurseries for propagation. These seeds can then be purchased by other clubs or organisations
  • Green waste is transported offsite and used in organic mulches.
  • Tree waste is chipped onsite and re-seed where possible or stock lied

Grange are continually looking for ways we can help the environment and we appreciate members support in our endeavours.
