On Tuesday 11 August it was a pleasure to host the Women’s Guest Day 4BBB played on the West Course. It was our first opportunity in 2020 to welcome players from other clubs to The Grange for an event.
We had a field of 52 players with the guests coming from far and wide, including Royal Adelaide, Kooyonga, Glenelg, Port Augusta, The Stirling, Mt Barker, Flagstaff Hill, SA Police Golf Club, West Lakes, North Adelaide, Mt Osmond, South Lakes Goolwa, Westwood Ho, Tanunda and the Barossa Valley golf clubs. Not only did we bring guests to the club we also bought the rain! Even though this put a damper on the event we had a few great scores in the 4BBB competition.
Well deserved winners were Sandra Furnell and Lynette Staple (West Lakes) with a fantastic 49 points, second Ann Coats and Heather Burford (Mt Osmond) on 42 points, and third Tracey Moody and Giedre Millard (SA Police Golf Club) on a countback with 40 points. Congratulations all – great scores.
After play we all dried out in the Beeston Room with presentations and a delicious
lunch where everyone enjoyed a chatty, laughter-filled ambience that only 50 plus women can create.
