A number of years ago The Grange Golf Club introduced a ‘Club Ambassadors Category’ to assist in raising the profile and prestige of the club.  The Club Ambassadors are prominent (past or present) sporting identities living in South Australia or originally from Adelaide. The Ambassadors are made honorary members of The Grange Golf Club with full playing rights on our courses and access to our club facilities.  We currently have a total of 10 Club Ambassadors who promote The Grange whenever there is an appropriate opportunity and also assist by presenting to the Pennant teams and assisting with Club Fundraisers.

We are excited to announce that we now have 3 new female Grange Ambassadors and would like to welcome them to The Club.

Anna Meares

Anna Meares is Australia’s first athlete to win individual medals in four consecutive Olympics.  She has been the world champion on four occasions, and a gold medallist at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. At the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Champs Meares took the gold in the keirin—her 11th world title in total, which made her the most decorated female track cyclist of all time.  She was the flag-bearer and captain for the Australian team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in keirin.  She also holds an Order of Australian Medal.  She currently resides in Adelaide in South Australia where the Australian Institute of Sport‘s Track Cycling program has its headquarters at the Adelaide Super-Drome

Jessica Foley

Dr Jessica Foley was drafted by the Adelaide Crows AFLW side at pick 30 in 2018 and also works as a Doctor in Noarlunga Hospital’s Emergency Department.  Before joining the AFLW, Jess was Australian women’s basketball player, who has represented the country at both junior and senior levels and was the Captain of Adelaide Lightning.  In her first year the Crows she won the Coaches Award, made the AFLW Team of the Year (Ruck) and averaged more than 18 disposals a game.

Kerryn Harrington

The Club is in the process of recognising all our Club Ambassadors with a photograph and a few words about their career to be displayed in the clubhouse.

We are looking forward to seeing these ambassadors at The Grange playing and practicing their golf and encourage Members to make them feel welcome.
