Anne-Marie Knight

Anne-Marie brings world-class experience, passion, and leadership to her role as Director of Coaching at The Grange Golf Club. An accomplished player and highly regarded coach, Anne-Marie’s career began as an elite amateur, winning the SA State Amateur Championship three times and the Australian Amateur Championship in 1994. She represented Australia in prestigious international events, including the Commonwealth Cup, Tasman Cup, Queen Sirikit Cup, and World Cup, before turning professional in 1996.

In her debut year on the Ladies European Tour, Anne-Marie was awarded Rookie of the Year, and in 1999, she captured her maiden tour victory at the Ladies German Open with a stunning final-round 64 to beat golfing legend Laura Davies.

After retiring from the professional tour in 2008, Anne-Marie transitioned into coaching and has spent the past 17 years building a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected golf coaches. A Certified PGA Professional with Advanced Coaching and All Abilities Accreditation, she has been recognised with multiple awards, including SA PGA Teaching Professional of the Year (2016), SA MyGolf Deliverer of the Year (2017), and SA PGA Game Development Coach of the Year (2019 & 2024).

Anne-Marie’s coaching philosophy is inclusive, personalised, and results-driven. Whether coaching beginners, juniors, social players, or elite athletes, she takes a holistic approach that combines video analysis, clear instruction, and tailored drills to help every golfer play their best.

Passionate, approachable, and deeply experienced, Anne-Marie leads the coaching program at The Grange with a focus on developing golfers of all abilities and growing the game for future generations.

Jay Fuss

With over three decades of experience in the golf industry, Jay brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Director of Golf at The Grange Golf Club. A full vocational PGA of Australia Member since 1991, Jay began his coaching journey as a trainee professional at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club in 1988 and has since built an impressive career working with players of all levels.

Throughout his coaching career, Jay has worked extensively with Pennant squads, state development programs, and even served as Head Coach of the Vietnamese National Women’s Team from 1997 to 2000. He has also coached multiple touring professionals and has expanded his expertise into club fitting, working with all major equipment brands and the latest fitting technologies to help golfers optimise their game.

Jay’s coaching philosophy is holistic and focuses on ball flight, shot-making, and individual potential rather than rigid methodology. He blends experience with modern technology to deliver lessons tailored to each golfer’s unique strengths and goals.

Max McCardle

With more than 20 years of experience competing at an elite level, Max McCardle brings a wealth of playing knowledge and technical expertise to his role as a coach at The Grange Golf Club. Growing up in the small town of Goolwa on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Max developed a love for all sports, but it was golf that quickly became his passion.

After turning professional in 2010, Max went on to enjoy an impressive career on the world stage, holding memberships on the PGA Tour of Australasia, OneAsia Tour, China Tour, PGA Tour China, and the Web.com Tour. Over the course of his career, he has recorded more than 30 professional victories, four runner-up finishes on tour, and reached a career-high world ranking of 492.

Before his professional career, Max had an outstanding amateur record, including titles such as SA Country Junior Champion (2002), six-time Club Champion, SA Amateur Champion (2010), and SA Vardon Medalist (2010). He also proudly represented South Australia in both state and country teams, serving as captain for multiple seasons.

As a coach, Max’s philosophy is simple: make the game easier for each individual golfer. He focuses on helping players understand their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to get the best out of their game. Max believes that even small amounts of quality guidance can have a big impact on performance regardless of whether you’re a beginner, an improving player, or a seasoned golfer.

Sam Masters

Sam has been surrounded by golf his entire life. The son of recently retired PGA Professional Gary Masters, Sam grew up immersed in the game and quickly developed into an elite junior player before enjoying a modest amateur and professional career. In 2018, he completed his PGA Traineeship to become a Certified Member of the PGA of Australia and has since achieved Advanced Coach status through ongoing professional development.

Since joining The Grange Golf Club in 2019, Sam has established himself as an integral part of the coaching team. He delivers a diverse range of programs, from junior and women’s clinics to high-performance training and pennant team coaching, as well as individualised one-on-one lessons tailored to players of all levels.

Sam’s coaching philosophy is built around simplicity and confidence. He prides himself on making the game easier to understand and more enjoyable for every golfer he works with. By helping players improve their tempo, develop creativity around the greens, and focus on what matters most, Sam empowers golfers to play with clarity and confidence.

Sarah Douglass-Norris

Sarah brings a wealth of international experience and a genuine passion for the game to her role as Golf Coordinator at The Grange Golf Club. Introduced to golf at the age of 10 by her grandad and mum, Sarah went on to represent South Australia in the State Team in 1998 and 1999 before turning professional in 1999.

Her professional career took her to the United States, where she played on mini tours in Texas and California, and then to Europe, where she fulfilled her dream of competing on the European Tour from 2002 to 2007. With over 12 years as a fully accredited PGA Professional, Sarah combines her elite playing background with a Bachelor of Teaching to deliver coaching that is clear, motivating, and accessible for golfers of all levels.

Since joining The Grange, Sarah has made a significant impact, developing the club’s women’s pathway programs, including the highly successful Chip & Sip clinics that have introduced many new women to golf. Her All Abilities coaching accreditation and expertise in modern coaching technologies, including TrackMan and video analysis, ensure her students receive the highest standard of instruction.

Sarah’s coaching philosophy is focused on building confidence and enjoyment while simplifying the fundamentals of the game. Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time, refining your short game, or looking to compete at a higher level, Sarah’s calm, genuinely enthusiastic, and practical approach helps golfers reach their potential.
