McMillan Shield
The McMillan Shield is a junior interclub handicap matchplay competition, open to boys and girls, and managed by The Grange Golf Club.
The competition is held on Sundays, generally in the months of February and March.
Five members make up a team, with one reserve. The maximum daily handicap allowed is 45 for boys and 54 for girls – all players must have a Golf Australia handicap.
Ideally, the competition is aimed at junior golfers who have not played in any form of pennant competition conducted by Golf Australia above Junior Division 2. McMillan Shield is a development competition and is viewed as a springboard for juniors eventually representing their club at a higher level.
