The Grange’s Sanderson Cup team concluded the minor rounds with a strong 5–0 victory over Blackwood at Glenelg on Sunday, 19th April.

Despite some last-minute changes due to illness, the Sanderson team remained unfazed and adapted with a call-up from our Pike team.

While the weather gave no uncertainty, the team’s performance left no room for doubt.

Right from the outset, every player took the lead and, as the match progressed, steadily increased their advantage with each hole.

By the turn, the momentum had only grown stronger. Four players were four up after the 11th hole, and Caitlin commanded an impressive six-hole lead, well on her way to a dominant 8&7 finish. Millie, after opening with three birdies in the first five holes, wrapped up her match with a convincing 7&6 win. Steph, with Caitlin stepping in as caddie, kept the winning streak going with a 6&5 victory. The trend continued as Mia and Elyse closed out their matches with scores of 6&4 and 3&1, respectively.

Thanks for the invaluable support of caddies Paul, Lawrie, Luca, and Alan. Their dedication and contributions throughout the day were greatly appreciated.

After the match, everyone gathered back at the club to celebrate, sharing the moment with teammates, families, and friends, and setting their sights on the next challenge.

Looking ahead, the Grand Final will be held at Kooyonga on Sunday, 3rd May. The Sanderson team will face either Royal Adelaide or Glenelg, with their opponent to be confirmed following next week’s Semi Final at Royal Adelaide.
