The Grange Golf Club is excited to welcome the current captain of the Port Adelaide Football Club, Travis Boak as its newest member.

Travis Boak, 26, was Port Adelaide’s first selection and fifth overall in the 2006 AFL Draft from the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup. Boak made his AFL debut in Round 12, 2007 against Essendon and his career highlights include 2007 AFL Rising Star nominee, 2009 Medalist, 2011 John Cahill Medallist, 2013/14 Fos Williams Medalist, 2013 Showdown Medalist (Round 3), 2014 Peter Badcoe VC Medal Medalist (round 6) and two times All Australian Team member in 2013 and 2014.

Travis now wants to take on the challenge of the golf course and obtain a handicap while providing a welcome break from the vigorous training that the world of AFL demands.

On joining Grange, Travis stated “I have always wanted to be a member of a prestigious golf club, and I am so excited to be part of The Grange. Both courses are in fantastic condition and I cannot wait to get down there for a hit.”

Travis has agreed to act as a Club Ambassador on behalf of the Club, and will be assisting in our junior development and providing support to our Pennant teams.

General Manager, Barry Linke stated that “Travis is a fantastic example of someone who has worked hard to achieve great success on and off the football field and we are so glad to have Travis on board at The Grange”.
