This program, aligned with Australian Golf’s strategic plan for women and girls, aims to nurture a lasting passion for golf among girls aged 9–16 by strengthening their connection to their local club or facility. Its main goal is to retain girls already involved in golf by supporting them beyond introductory programs and helping them obtain a handicap, thereby reducing teenage dropout rates.

While primarily focused on current junior golfers, the program also welcomes newcomers who show genuine enthusiasm for learning the sport, ideally with some prior golf experience (e.g., MyGolf clinics or family play).

Guided by a club PGA professional, and supported by club members, scholarship participants will:

  • Receive 24 group coaching sessions to develop their skills
  • Receive a 12-month membership at The Grange Golf Club
  • Work toward gaining a handicap
  • Participate in club competitions
  • Build lasting friendships within the golfing community

If you are interested in becoming an AGF Scholar, complete the application form below by Friday 28th November 2025.

AGF Scholarship Application 2025

Why a Scholarship Program?

The Grange Golf Club is one of 160 facilities across Australia to obtain funding from the Australian Golf Foundation (AGF), in association with Golf Australia. This funding has been made available because of the foresight and generosity of Bonnie Boezeman AO, a director of the Australian Golf Foundation. While the program’s primary aim is to retain girls in golf by giving girls a shared golf experience, girls new to golf may also be engaged in this program should they demonstrate a commitment to learning the sport.

Who is the Scholarship For?

The suggested ages for the program are girls from 9 to 16 years old. There are exceptions allowed for girls from 7 to 8 if they have already displayed exceptional capabilities for their age.

What Does the Program Involve?

  • A one-year junior club membership that carries playing rights, to ensure girls can participate in club competitions and obtain a handicap
  • 24 sessions with the club professional and/or national program deliverer
  • A club shirt and hat with AGF Scholarship identification

What Commitments Will Scholarship Holders Be Required to Make?

  • Display a desire and willingness to improve golf skills, obtain a handicap, play in club competitions (and/or social play), and engage in any extra-curricular activities that foster friendships between scholarship holders.
  • Complete a pre- and post-program evaluation survey. Scholarship holder contact details will therefore be supplied to Golf Australia upon successful application.
  • While we ask girls to strive and make the most out of the program, their commitment to the scholarship program should not, at any point in time, take precedence over any education/school commitments.

Scholarship Term

Scholarships will be valid for one year only (2026); extensions will be subject to The Grange Golf Club’s scholarship committee.

Junior Girls Alumni Program

Once the girls have completed their year in the AGF Junior Girls Scholarship Program they will receive an invitation to become a part of the Junior Girls Alumni. The alumni program continues to keep girls engaged, offering a range of opportunities throughout the year.

How to Apply

Interested girls need to complete the following form by Friday, 28 November 2025. Please note, girls may be required to attend an interview.
