During the winter months when injection into the wetlands is in progress and extraction from our bores for irrigation purposes is low, the water table rises to within metres of ground level. When we inject water we create pressure on the aquifer and in doing so water is expelled from any point it can find to escape, which is our uncapped bores. With multiple wetland systems around us (RAGC & Westlakes GC) pumping into the aquifer at the same time pressures rise quickly and bores become artesian. There are still several uncapped bores on our property, which we are in the process of capping, and relief should be taken where required. (Rule 16.1)
