With AFL Gather Round in full swing, it became a “gather round” for the Pike team as well. The girls gathered ready to take on many Pennant men and women gathered to support the girls.
Conditions were far from ideal, with periods of rain and a biting cold wind testing everyone on course. Despite this, the team showed great resilience and composure, rising to every challenge coming away with a strong 3 & 2 win.
Kaylah once again delivered a standout performance, highlighting her continued development on the tough par-3 7th hole. After a slightly long tee shot that finished in thick grass above the back bunker, she faced a very difficult chip from a steep slope. Her recovery was excellent, getting up onto the green and squaring the hole — a great result under pressure.
It was another fantastic team effort from all players.
Results:
- Caitlin Roberts – Won 5 & 4
- Louise Glennon – Lost 2 down
- Sarah Sanders – Lost 4 & 2
- Ann Schaefer – Won 2 & 1
- Kaylah Tran – Won 5 & 3
A big thank you to Louise Pink for her support with team management, and to our caddies, Louise Dearing, Zung Tran, Alan Roberts, Peter Sanders, and Ian Whinney — for their continued support.
Our final match before finals is against The Vines at Glenelg on Sunday 19th April at 12:10pm.
Let’s finish strong and push for the top spot, go girls!
