This week we took on The Vines at Glenelg in our final minor round match for the season, and what a day it turned out to be. The weather was kind to us, setting the stage for a tightly contested match that ultimately went right down to the wire, but unfortunately resulted in a 3 & 2 loss.

A big thank you to Nadine, who answered the call early in the morning to step in following a late withdrawal due to illness. Stepping straight into a competitive match is never easy, but she rose to the occasion brilliantly. Highlights included two absolute standout shots on the Par 3 14th and again on the 18th.

With a 12:10pm tee-off and every match closely fought, it was a long afternoon of golf. Most games were decided late, reflecting just how competitive the contest was, and we didn’t wrap up until around 5:30pm.

Kaylah and Sarah led the way with strong, composed wins, continuing their excellent form. Ann, Nadine and Louise all battled hard and kept their matches alive deep into the round, but unfortunately couldn’t quite get over the line.

Louise, in particular, showed great determination. After a slow start, she dug in and used all her experience to fight her way back into the match. She gave herself every chance, but with fading light becoming a factor late in the day, just fell short.

While not the result we were hoping for, it was a fantastic team effort in a very evenly matched contest. The fight and resilience shown across all matches was a great reflection of the team throughout the season.

A big thank you to our caddies —Zung Tran, Peter Sanders, Ian Whinney, Tracey Moody and Louise Faint — for their continued support plus and to the Sanderson girls for sticking around after their win to support the team.
