The Grange Cleek 2 team had another early 8am tee off against Glenelg at The Vines at Reynella. It was another very fresh start to the morning but the course presented very well.
The handicap was fairly even this week and the Grange Team didn’t have to give away too many points to the Glenelg players. But that didn’t ensure an easy round. Both Lisa and Onna were able to win outright but Nic, Cath and Louise did an amazing job to square their games on the last hole which meant we secured a 3.5 to 1.5 win.
As Cleek 2 do not have a semi final, the first and second spots on the ladder proceeded straight into the Grand Final.
Fortunately, we were in a very good position on the ladder as we were able to secure a spot in the Finals.
However The Vines and Flagstaff Hill had a nervous round as they were both playing for the final spot. The Vines had a bye this week and didn’t score any points and Flagstaff Hill won which meant they will be our opponents in next week’s final.
Our loyal caddies this week were Fran Hylton, Jo Lisk, Sue Battersby and Trevor O’Rourke and no doubt played a pivotal role in our win today.
Our Grand Final next week will be held at Aston Hills. The team has done an amazing job to get there, attending coaching with Anne-Marie Knight every Friday (thank-you Anne-Marie), supporting and motivating each other all season.
