It was a perfect day as The Grange A3 team took on Glenelg at the immaculately prepared Kooyonga Golf Course.

Off to a reasonable start, all players were looking forward to their match and hopeful of a win at the end of it.

Sue Dob enjoys playing at Kooyonga and proved this by being in front throughout her round, winning against her opponent Cathy Symons, 3&1.

Sue Olson was in front and playing well but ran out of steam on the 15th when her opponent Fiona Eblem took the lead, Sue losing 3&1.

Louise Faint had a super battle with Wendy Featherston and they took it to the 18th for a squared match.

Sharyn Simes started strongly and had a see-sawing contest with Jackie Burke but fell behind in the end to lose 3&2.

Tracey Moody couldn’t get the better of Wendy Vaughan on the day and went down 6&4.

Play of the day belonged to Louise on the 12th hole. From 123 metres the ball sailed in high and hit the pin. The crowd (me) went wild, but the ball rolled back down the green and ended in the bunker! Deserved better.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t the team result we were looking for as Grange went down 3.5 to 1.5 to Glenelg. This puts the pressure on the team for the last match of the season if we want to play in the finals. A win is our only option. We are playing Royal Adelaide at Grange on Monday 13th April – let’s hope the home advantage leads to success!

Big thanks to this week’s caddies David, Claire, Paul, Jo and Ann, who are all a big part of the A3 team.
