The Grange Cleek 2 team had another early start but this time it was a relatively short drive for most Grange members to North Haven where we faced Tea Tree Gully.
For a very small club North Haven did an exceptional job with the organisation and hospitality.
Our players were under the pump again with most having to give away shots and three of our players having to give away between 4 and 7 points.
North Haven is a 9-hole course, relatively flat with minimal bunkers. The greens were difficult to read and the fairways were challenging with a lot of opportunity to use the preferred lies. As an added challenge, all players had to contend with the continual alarms and loud construction from the nearby Shipyard and Outer Harbour.
All our players put up a great effort and were assisted by our loyal caddies, Ben Chan, Cath Heath and Fran Hylton.
Grange were 2 to 1 down on the 17th hole, so there was a great deal of pressure on the 18th hole for Sue and Fiona. Both showed nerves of steel, determination and persistence resulting in a squared game, Sue winning the 18th Hole 1 up and Fiona squaring the hole to tie the match.
This was yet another high-pressure game but a great team effort. After the last five very close games, our team have earnt a well-deserved rest over Easter.
