The Putt for Ukraine Charity Golf Day was hosted on the West Course on Monday 5th December and organised by Grange member Mark Nowosilskyj along with a team of helpers including Taras Mular (pictured) to raise much needed funds for the dire situation in Ukraine.  The weather was perfect and 22 groups hit the fairways in the morning followed by lunch in the afternoon.  A great time was had by all and everyone praised the condition of the course.

The lunch time activities included live and silent auctions, a guest speaker and a short video by Adelaide photographer Drew Lenman – which you can check out HERE.  And even Santa made a brief appearance – and auctioned off his services for Christmas morning!

Guest speaker, Nataliia Bakhurynska, spoke of her journey and heartbreak in leaving her homeland and, in particular, the difficulty in leaving her sons who are still fighting on the front lines in the Donetsk Region.  This was both very sad and powerful and made everyone realise the terrible realities that Ukrainians are facing over there.

The event was a huge success and around $32,000 was raised which will go towards providing humanitarian support for people affected by the war, including those displaced Ukrainian families who have temporarily made their home in Adelaide.

The event closed with a recorded message of thanks from the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko (Click HERE).

The organisers would like to thank The Grange Golf Club for staging the event, in particular, Simon Andrew and Taylor Thomas for bringing everything together.

The ‘Putt for Ukraine’ Golf Day (Texas Ambrose format) was won by the Air Diffusion Agencies team – Lenice Vayro, Brett Vaylo, Daniel Threadgold and Brendan McKeough, with a score of 108.
