The Grange Golf Club has a duty of care to its Members and Staff and will suspend play when it is considered dangerous to continue.  For your own safety and wellbeing, as well as that of fellow Members, you must cease play when required to do so.  The Local Rule covering this is clearly printed on the back of the score card and can also be viewed in the scoring App as:

13.SUSPENSION OF PLAY: Suspension for a dangerous situation will be signalled by one long siren blast and play must stop immediately. All other suspensions will be signalled by three consecutive siren blasts and players may complete the hole being played but must not begin play on another hole. In either case, resumption of play will be signalled by two short siren blasts.   See Rule 5.7b.  Penalty for breach of rule: Disqualification.

When play is suspended due to an electrical storm, as it was on Saturday, the suspension will be for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last lightning strike is recorded.  This is industry best practice (30/30 Rule).  You may not see or be aware of lightning strikes but the Club has a state-of-the-art system which shows lightning strikes in the local area and uses this to determine when to suspend play.  Play will be suspended when a strike is recorded within 10km of the Club.
