This week we introduce you to our newly elected Committee Member Jeff Green

What sparked your interest in golf and when did you join The Grange Golf Club?

In the 70’s I was Foreman for Past President Doug Shimmin and got to see first-hand the enjoyment and pleasure he got from his long association with the Club.

After being on the waiting list for 8 years, I joined as a full member in 1988.

What is your favourite hole on the golf courses and the hole you just can’t seem to master?

It would have to be the 8th West as I was lucky enough to get my second hole in one there during the Saturday comp many years ago.  The 14th East seems to have my measure most days.

What has been the highlight in your golfing journey to date?

In 2004 Trudy and I went on an overseas holiday and below is a copy of an email I sent home to family and friends at that time from St Andrews. Enjoy the read.  Click HERE to read the email

What is your go to lunch order in the Bistro/Grilled @ Grange?

Either the Whiting or Steak.

What do you do with yourself outside the golf club?

I live and breathe for anything to do with the Port Adelaide Football Club and I follow all World sports.

Dead or alive, who would you most like to meet?

Fos Williams, Ayrton Senna and Queen Elizabeth II.

Favourite memory you have had at the golf club?

Last year’s win at the Twilight Golf competition.

What’s the best score you have ever shot at Grange?

I think it was 86 off the stick.

What motivated you to join The Grange Golf Committee?

Being able to contribute to the overall running of the Club to the best of my ability and hopefully give back to fellow members some of the enjoyment I have received over time.

What do you love about The Grange Golf Club?

Besides the challenge of playing on both courses, one of the best things I like is the interaction and friendships I have made over all the years.
