If a ball is lying on the putting green where coring has taken place, relief may be taken as follows:

The ball may be lifted and placed within one putter head length of where it originally lay, no closer to the hole. There is no penalty. 

Before lifting the ball the player must mark its position and the ball may be cleaned before placing.

 

If the player fails to mark the ball prior to lifting it or moves the ball in any other way, such as rolling it with a club, he incurs a penalty of one stroke.

 

Piles of Scarifying: The piles of scarifying in the genera area are abnormal course conditions and relief may be taken under Rule 16-1.
