This week we get to know Committee Member Kris Tapp who has been a member for 31 years and on the Committee for 4 years

What sparked your interest in golf and when did you join The Grange Golf Club?

I played in a corporate golf day in my early 20’s and really had no idea what I was doing but I thoroughly enjoyed the friendship and laughter, especially the 19th Hole!  I joined Grange in 1989 and haven’t looked back since.

What is your favourite hole on the golf courses and the hole you just can’t seem to master?

My favourite hole on any course is the 18th mainly because it’s followed straight after by the 19th!

What has been the highlight in your golfing journey to date?

The highlight of my golfing journey was by far being involved in the co-ordination of the volunteers when Grange hosted the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in 2019. What a week it was!

What is your go to lunch order in the Bistro/Grilled @ Grange?

I seem to always order toasted wraps from the Bistro, always full of flavour with plenty of filling.

What do you do with yourself outside the golf club?

Outside of the Club I enjoy getting away on weekends.  Spare time now is taken up spending time with our little grandson which I enjoy.

Dead or alive, who would you most like to meet?

Dead or alive I would really enjoy meeting scientist Brian Cox, he puts a different perspective on life which makes me feel I need to live it more and not worry about the small stuff.

Favourite memory you have had at the golf club?

My favourite memory at the golf club was meeting Greg Norman at the opening of the newly developed East Course.

What’s the best score you have ever shot at Grange?

Best score I’ve ever had in golf is my own secret.

What motivated you to join The Grange Golf Club Committee?

After spending six years on the Women’s Sub Committee, two of those being Women’s  Captain, I felt I had more to give to the Club I decided to join The Grange Golf Club Committee, it has been by far more rewarding than I had anticipated and I hope to continue for a few more years.

What do you love about The Grange Golf Club?

What do I love about The Grange Golf Club – everything from the friendship, the Pro Shop, to be able to escape from everyday chores to play golf and definitely relax and enjoy the 19th hole!
