The State Challenge – a joint initiative by Golf Australia, the PGA of Australia and the ALPG – will give professionals and amateurs a chance to shake off any tournament rust before taking on the world in post-Covid-19 events.

Events are planned for July 13, 20 and 27, with an eventual 108-hole champion determined in each state.

Grange members Matthew Lisk, Jack Thompson, Kristalle Blum, Amelia Whinney, Liam Georgiadis, Ben Stowe and Ella Adams are all in the events which teed of at a foggy Mt Compass Golf Club on Monday. The event was reduced to 18 holes due to the fog. Grange Member Matt Lisk won the event with a 66 while Jack Thompson finished runner up and best amateur with a score of 68. Kristalle Blum’s 73 was good enough for T4 and was the best female score.

The next round of the State Challenge will be held at Grange on Monday 20th July. We encourage all members to come out and support our players and take the opportunity to see South Australia’s best golfers tackle the West course. Tee times are from 7:14am for round 1 and 12:08pm for round 2.
