Dear Members,

By this time you should all have received the 2019 Annual Report of The Grange Golf Club and trust that you will find it interesting reading in what was another successful year for the Club.

You should also now be aware that there are no elections for Committee positions required this year as there were only four nominations received to fill four vacancies on Committee as well as only one nomination for the position of Captain and one for the position of Vice Captain.  My congratulations to the new Captain, John Thomas, the new Vice Captain, Kym Linke and the four elected Committee members Kris Tapp, Craig Martin, John Bell and Marty Ingham.  I look forward to working with them over the next 12 months to continue to provide the best golfing experience for members and guests of The Grange Golf Club.

However, a motion to amend the Constitution of The Grange Golf Club has been proposed and, if successful, would impact on the future direction of the Club and how the Club will fund both its debt and future capital improvements, whilst also trying to provide members with first class playing surfaces and facilities.  This is a serious issue and I ask all members to give it due consideration, after reading the proposer’s rationale for the motion and your Committee’s reasons for opposition of the motion.

Your Committees, over the years, have worked hard to bring the Club to the standard we all enjoy today and I would ask all members to continue to allow your Committee to do the job for which we were elected.  It is your Committee that has the relevant financial information at hand, including budgets, debt level, capital improvement requirements, member numbers, etc and our decision as to the level of annual subscription increase is made after consideration of all factors and is made in the best interest of members while also considering the future of The Grange Golf Club.

We believe every member past and present have assisted us to provide the facilities that YOU all enjoy today and it is your Committees job to ensure the financial stability and future of The Grange Golf Club for not only today but for generations to come, as was the case before you.

Members, in the best interests of The Grange Golf Club I ask that you allow your elected Committee to do their job with the current flexibility allowed in the Constitution regarding Subscriptions, and vote AGAINST the Motion.

Thank you in anticipation for your support.
