It was another spectacular day of pennant golf as The Grange faced off against Kooyonga at Blackwood in round two of the Sanderson Cup on Sunday, March 22. <\/span><\/p>\n The fairways were immaculate, the team looked sharp in their green attire, and there was a buzz of excitement as we welcomed Millie Whinney back for her first match of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The team started strongly, securing early wins within the first three holes. After seven holes, three Grange players were ahead of their opponents and two were trailing.<\/p>\n At the turn, Lou Glennon maintained her signature steady play, holding onto a narrow lead. Mia surged ahead to establish a commanding position, while Elyse kept her opponent on their toes. After a slow start, Steph began to find her rhythm and Millie\u2019s spectacular eagle out of the bunker on the 9th gave her a one hole edge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As play moved to the back nine, The Grange momentum only grew.<\/p>\n Lou continued her impressive form, going three up at the 12th before closing out the match with a 4-3 victory. Mia remained consistent and delivered a dominant 8-7 win.<\/p>\n Elyse, after moving one up on the 12th, faced a few challenging holes and was all square at the 15th. She demonstrated great resilience to win the 16th and 17th to claim a 2-1 victory.<\/p>\n Steph, with Mia now on the bag, fought valiantly to come from behind to finish all square on the 18th – a fantastic display of determination and focus. Meanwhile, Millie was in sensational form, sitting five under par after 13 holes. Despite tough competition, she remained composed, produced another eagle on the 12th and wrapped up a 4-2 win, finishing eight under par.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Grange triumphed over Kooyonga with a resounding 4\u00bd to \u00bd match victory. Congratulations to the entire team on a hard-earned and well-deserved win.
