Tom D\u2019Arcy is a new face at The Grange Golf Club after commencing duties in August 2022 as our Senior Turf Technician.\u00a0 Tom manages and maintains the wide range of plant and equipment which are used to help present our golf courses and surrounding grounds.\u00a0 We would like to take this opportunity to share some information on Tom.<\/p>\n
What attracted you to work at The Grange Golf Club? What is the most enjoyable part of your job?<\/strong> And the least enjoyable?<\/strong> What is your favourite hole on the course? Where was your favourite vacation\/holiday?<\/strong> Describe yourself in three words? What was your worst ever job?<\/strong> Dead or alive, who would you most like to meet?<\/strong> If you weren\u2019t doing this job, what would you be?
\n<\/strong>When I saw this job I thought \u201cthis is the job for me\u201d.\u00a0 I love working on machinery, being outdoors and golf \u00a0(handicap 28.8 was 54 a few years ago, hoping to get down to 18 by the time I retire)\u00a0 .<\/p>\n
\nReally rewarding to see a machine that we have fixed or sharpened up on the course cutting greens for everyone to enjoy. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\nWhilst I really enjoy my job, some days it\u2019s hard watching others play golf especially when a rogue ball flys through our workshop off the 10th<\/sup> tee.<\/p>\n

\nSydney 2019, proposed to my beautiful wife in a helicopter over the harbour bridge<\/p>\n

\nInstalling insulation in houses \u2013 I didn\u2019t realise I was afraid of heights until I couldn\u2019t get back down the ladder, was pretty awkward.<\/p>\n
