What sparked your interest in golf and when did you join The Grange Golf Club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I met my now husband Scott Thiele in 2001 and he was an avid golfer who had been a member at Grange for many years.\u00a0 I realised that golf was a sport that would enable us to travel and explore wonderful golfing destinations together.\u00a0 I joined the Club in 2007 when I retired from full time work.<\/p>\n

What is your favourite hole on the golf courses and the hole you just can\u2019t seem to master?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The West 4th<\/sup> par 3 is one hole I usually score well on.\u00a0 The 15th<\/sup> East is a very picturesque hole.\u00a0 No doubt the 13th<\/sup> East is my nemesis hole, but I am working on that.<\/p>\n

What has been the highlight in your golfing journey to date?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Travelling with Scott both in Australia and overseas.\u00a0 It all started on our honeymoon to Tasmania in 2004 where we played Barnbougle Dunes, a week or so before it officially opened.\u00a0 Since then, we have ventured to many overseas countries and playing The Old Course at St Andrews was definitely a highlight.<\/p>\n

What is your go to lunch order in the Bistro\/Grilled @ Grange?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I always enjoy the soup, so many varieties and flavours, accompanied with the crunchy chargrilled bread.<\/p>\n

What do you do with yourself outside the golf club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My family is very important to me.\u00a0 I catch up with my mother and son and his family for dinner most weeks.\u00a0 I also spend at least one day with my granddaughter who has just turned 3.\u00a0 I play bridge and try to attend the gym 3 times a week.\u00a0 I keep in touch with many non-golfing girlfriends and meet quite often.\u00a0 Then there are my wonderful golfing girlfriends and trips away, mostly local, are always on the agenda.<\/p>\n

Favourite memory you have had at the golf club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My wedding day on November 28, 2004 under the gum tree on the old 1st<\/sup> East tee.\u00a0 As if having the Power win the Premiership that year wasn\u2019t good enough!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best score you have ever shot at Grange?<\/strong><\/p>\n

41 stableford points on the West Course a couple of months ago.<\/p>\n

What motivated you to join The Grange Golf Committee?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had been on the Women\u2019s Committee for 6 years, including 2 years as Vice Captain and 2 years as Captain.\u00a0 When my term was finished, I wanted to continue being involved and contribute to the management of the Club.<\/p>\n

What do you love about The Grange Golf Club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The friendliness of the members and the camaraderie that goes with it.\u00a0 The courses are immaculate and a pleasure to play.\u00a0 The mixed competitions are always fun and there is a great atmosphere in the clubhouse after these events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
