The Grange Golf Club has been voted the best golf club in South Australia thanks to a reader poll on the Adelaide Now website for the best golf club in the state.<\/p>\n

Thanks to those members that voted Grange \u2018best-of\u2019poll from a field of 25 nominees.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nowhere better to get on the green than the Grange Golf Club, according to our reader poll.<\/p>\n

Grange took out our latest \u2018best-of\u2019poll from a field of 25 nominees and it was a tight race with the club attracting just over 11 per cent of the hundreds of votes that poured in.<\/p>\n

General manager Barry Linke was chuffed to have taken out the title.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a real privilege to have won it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Grange Golf Club has been around since 1926.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have two golf courses \u2013 our western and eastern courses,\u201d Mr Linke said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe eastern course was opened in the mid 1960s and was rebuilt and redesigned by Greg Norman in 2012.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreg Norman actually had his first ever win in professional golf at Grange in the West Lakes Classic in 1976, so we\u2019ve had a very good relationship with him over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grange is a private members club and is at capacity at the moment with 2150 members.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince COVID, golf has really been in a boom,\u201d Mr Linke said.<\/p>\n

  4. Blackwood Golf Club, Cherry Gardens<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. The Vines Golf Club of Reynella, Reynella<\/strong><\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u201cPrior to COVID we were marketing for members but with people not travelling overseas anymore, quite a lot have started playing golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

    On its busiest days \u2013 Saturdays and Sundays \u2013 Grange can have up to 400 people playing across the two courses.<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s not only golf the club offers, with a multi-awarding winning function centre that caters for weddings, seminars, birthdays, business dinners and corporate events.<\/p>\n

    The golf club also has a gym on site.<\/p>\n

    Its restaurant Grilled at Grange is open on Friday and Saturday evenings and for lunch every day.<\/p>\n

    The perfectly manicured golfing greens and array of facilities draw people from right across the state.<\/p>\n

    \u201cOur members come from all across Adelaide,\u201d Mr Linke said.<\/p>\n

    Grange is also host to world-class events such as the Women\u2019s Australian Open \u2013 which rotates between Grange, Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
