\"\"We are thrilled to announce that The Grange Golf Club\u2019s newest Club Ambassador is Australian retired professional tennis player and former\u00a0world number one Lleyton Hewitt.<\/p>\n

Lleyton is the most recent Australian to win a men’s singles Grand Slam title.\u00a0 In November 2001 Hewitt became the youngest male ever to be ranked No. 1 in the world in singles at the age of 20\u00a0years, 8\u00a0months and 26\u00a0days.\u00a0 He won 30 singles titles and 3 doubles titles, his highlights being the\u00a02001 US Open\u00a0and\u00a02002 Wimbledon\u00a0men’s singles titles, the\u00a02000 US Open\u00a0men’s doubles title, back-to-back\u00a0Tennis Masters Cup\u00a0titles in 2001 and 2002, and the Davis Cup with Australia in 1999 and 2003.\u00a0 Between 1997 and 2016, he contested twenty consecutive Australian Open men’s singles tournaments, reaching the\u00a02005 final\u00a0where he was defeated by\u00a0Marat Safin\u00a0in four sets.\u00a0 Lleyton Hewitt\u00a0is currently Australia’s\u00a0Davis Cup\u00a0captain\u00a0and has been in the role since 2016.\u00a0 Lleyton is a keen golfer and we are excited to have him on board at The Grange.<\/p>\n

The Grange Golf Club introduced the \u2018Club Ambassadors Category\u2019 to assist in raising the profile and prestige of the Club.\u00a0 Our Club Ambassadors are prominent identities living in South Australia or originally from Adelaide and are made honorary members of The Grange with full playing rights on our courses and access to our facilities.\u00a0 Our Club Ambassadors promote The Grange whenever there is an appropriate opportunity and also assist by presenting to the Pennant teams and assisting with Club Fundraisers.<\/p>\n

The Club is in the process of recognising all our Club Ambassadors with a photograph and profile including the highlights on their career which will be displayed in the clubhouse.<\/p>\n

We are looking forward to seeing Lleyton hitting the fairways at The Grange and encourage Members to make him feel welcome.<\/p>\n
