{"id":66,"date":"2015-04-30T03:07:57","date_gmt":"2015-04-30T03:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grangegolf.com.au\/cms\/golf\/course-care\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T14:37:45","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T05:07:45","slug":"course-care","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.grangegolf.com.au\/cms\/member-handbook\/course-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Course Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"course-care\">\n<div class=\"info-box\">\n<h2>Bunkers<\/h2>\n<p>Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints and then leave the rake in the base of the bunker parallel with the direction of play on the hole.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always enter the bunker at the lowest point.<\/li>\n<li>Pull rake toward you as you exit the bunker.<\/li>\n<li>If required rake other affected areas.<\/li>\n<li>Do not pile sand at the edge of the bunker. Occasionally, it may be necessary to knock in the side of the divot with an iron. The sand should always be smoothed. Players are encouraged to fill in other divots in the vicinity of their ball.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove any loose turf from the affected area.<\/li>\n<li>Knock in all sides of the edge of the divot.<\/li>\n<li>Correctly mend divot.<\/li>\n<li>Pour sand over the divot and using your club or shoe to level the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-box\">\n<h2>Damage Through Practice Swings<\/h2>\n<p>In taking practice swings, players should avoid causing damage to the course, particularly on tees. Any damage should be repaired as required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"info-box\">\n<h2>Ball Pitch Marks on Greens<\/h2>\n<p>Players should ensure that any damage to the putting green made by the ball or by the player is carefully repaired.<\/p>\n<p>If time permits, players are encouraged to repair any other pitch marks they observe.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always start at the back of the mark and push forward with the repairer.<\/li>\n<li>Use repairer around all sides and slowly ease turf toward the centre of the mark.
