To all Members of The Grange Golf Club

As foreshadowed in my previous messages we need to continue to review our operations and playing arrangements at The Grange Golf Club as the State and Federal government requirements change.

The most recent changes have reduced the number of people permitted in gatherings from 10 to 2.  They do however continue to support people undertaking exercise, as long as it is consistent with social distancing principles and in groups of no more than 2.

Consistent with these changes golf will now be structured as an exercise, not a competition.  The following will apply from the first tee time on Monday 30 March 2020:

1.  All members will only be permitted to play in groups of two

2.  Playing golf is now for exercise, that is, there will be no competitions nor golf scorecards (members can of  course keep their own score if they wish)

3.  Motorised carts are only permitted to carry a single passenger and one set of clubs

4.  The pro shop will continue to be open for essential purchases to support your game, eg. to purchase golf balls, tees etc

5.  The practice fairway is closed

The Federal government continues to advise people in high risk categories to stay at home in the current circumstances.  Members are free to choose whether they play golf but we remind you to consider your own personal risk factors including age and health.

For those that have already booked on timesheets for the coming days these will be updated by the Club.  We have tried to accommodate members as close as possible to the original time booked but your playing time may have changed.  Please check the website for your revised tee time.  We understand that not all members may receive a revised tee time of their preference but please be understanding that these changes had to be made.  If you are currently on the timesheet and do not intend to play golf on a particular day, please take your name out as soon as possible to free up tee times for your fellow members.

We also encourage you to continue to support our Club by purchasing take-away meals and drinks when you are at the Club.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.
