Golf Development Fund
The Grange Golf Club established a Golf Development Fund in 2007 to facilitate the collection of donations and other fundraising activities to be used specifically for golf development. We registered the project with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) which allows members to make unconditional donations to the ASF and claim a tax deduction.
Funds raised are used to fund a number of sports development programmes to promote and enhance the game of golf for elite golfers and promising juniors. A significant aim of the project is to increase participation at junior level through scholarships and assistance for low income families who cannot afford golf fees and equipment.
The following is a list of some programmes that may be funded:
-
Specialist coaching for talent squad members
-
Annual camp for talent squad and promising juniors
-
Competition fees and travel expenses for selected members
-
Scholarships for promising golfers
The Committee has formed a Talent/ Elite Golf Development Sub-Committee to manage these activities and has been allocated an annual operating budget to fund approved expenditure. We also hope to raise a considerable amount through fundraising activities, including donations to the ASF and an annual golf event.
We are very grateful for the financial support we have received so far. A number of members have made donations that will be returned to the Club in the form of grants from the ASF. If you wish to make a donation, you can download a donation form from the link in the right hand column.
If you feel that you may be eligible for assistance from the golf development fund, please put your request in writing to the General Manager. The talent/ Elite Golf Development Committee will assess each request on its merits and approve eligible expenditure.
