    Slow Play

How to achieve a Round of 4 Hours (Stroke Play)

    1. Play when ready and if it is safe to do so, regardless of the"honour"
    2. On the green, after putting, move to the"exit"side of green to reduce time leaving the green, if one minute saved by this process this means 18 minutes saved per round
    3. Short hitters or people with physical limitations, should always hit off first
    4. Allow those people with physical limitations, to putt out first, irrespective of whose honour it is, so they can move off the green first and be ready to hit off the next tee
    5. Do not mark cards on green, players should only mark their card after they have hit off from the next tee or mark while waiting for their turn to tee off
    6. Unless interfering with another member's line, players should line up putt and be ready to go, before their turn, and not wait until their turn before assessing line and speed
    7. If near the green, always allow the person, if in a bunker to go first, so they can repair bunker whilst others playing their shots
    8. "Captain" responsible to ensure their group is immediately behind the group in front, and not just in front of the group behind
    9. If all members apply these simple rules, this consideration would enhance the enjoyment of a round of golf for all members on the day
